Waldfriedhof in Hannover-Misburg
Einzelansichten der Gedenksteine für die Opfer alliierter Luftangriffe in Hannover-Misburg, Zwangsarbeiter aus dem Osten, u.a. aus Polen

Forced labourers were used for work in the Neuengamme concentration camp branch in Hannover-Misburg and in cement plants and other industrial facilities in the area.

For several dozen years there was no information plate on the tomb. The plot of forced labourers was reconstructed only in 2009 and three memorial plaques with the names of victims and a description in German were placed there (translation: Here lie ten forced labourers from the East who died during air raids on 10 May 1940, 24 Aug 1944 and 15 Mar 1944). The plot is taken care of by the cemetery administration and the tomb - depending on the time of the year - is either planted with flowers or with ornamental plants.

The following are the Polish-sounding names from the memorial stones (original spelling preserved):

STANISLAUS SZYMANSKI * 1910 † 1940

IRENUS CZAPLICKI * 1913 † 1944

TADENEZ GNOTH * 1917 † 1944
