Kurzawski, Józef (Josef Kurzawski), 1911-14 member of the 2nd Chamber of the Prussian Landtag, 1912-18 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *8.3.1870 Kotlow/Kotłów near Mixstadt/Mikstat, †7.2.1925 Poznań, priest, publicist, son of a teacher. He attended grammar schools in Rogasen/Rogoźno and Ostrowo/Ostrów Wielkopolski. Subsequently he studied at the theological colleges in Poznan and Gniezno. On 23rd June 1895 he was ordained as a priest in Gniezno. He was a vicar in Koscielec/Kościelec (Powiat Kolski) and Zippnow/Sypniewo, following which he was a vicar and teacher of religion at the grammar school in Hohensalza/Inowrocław. From 1902 onwards he was a provost in Pakosch a.d. Netze/Pakość, and from 1924 in Śrem/Schrimm. Above all during his time in Pakosch he was actively engaged in business and social clubs, sat on the Board of Directors of the Peoples and Farmers Bank and was active in the Polish Workers Union. In January 1912 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Wirsitz-Schubin/Wyrzysk-Szubin with a majority of 50.41%. He served on the select committees for trade agreements, the colonial court, lighting oil, protectorates, the law on Reich clubs, and Armed Forces treason. He was a correspondent for theological journals and for Polish and German newspapers, primarily in the area of social politics. Between 1919 and 1922 he was a member of the Sejm.
