Połczyński (Półczyński), Roman Teodor Stanisław Janta (Roman Stanislaus Theodor von Polczynski-Janta, Roman Stanislas (!) Theodor von Janta-Półczyński, Roman von Polczynski-Janta, Roman von Janta-Polczynski), 1890-1912 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire. *27.3.1849 in Groß Komorze/Wielka Komorza near Tuchel/Tuchola, †30.9.1916 in Zoppot, lord of the manor, publicist, composer. Between 1859 and 1868 he attended the high school in Poznan. From 1868 to 69 he studied music theory and composition. From 1870 onwards he was a farmer on his estates and properties. He travelled throughout Germany, Poland, Austria and Italy, where he published articles on art and music. He composed works for the piano and songs with Polish texts. He held a large number of honorary offices and was the head of the Polish Agricultural Union in the district of Wongrowitz/Wągrowiec. He owned estates in Michorowo and Montken/Mątki, in the district of Stuhm/Sztum; and Zabiczyn/Żabiczyn near Rombschin/Rąbczyn (Wągrowiec), in the district of Wongrowitz, where he resided. In February 1890, in June 1893, in June 1898, in June 1903 and in January 1907 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Karthaus-Neustadt/Kartuzy-Wejherowo with majorities between 65.5% and 73.13%. He served on the special committees for homestead laws, time determination, customs tariffs, the cancellation of Argentine contracts, trade agreements, the trade law book, children’s work, seafaring regulations, slaughterhouses, and measurements and weight regulations. picture: 1907.
