Chłapowski, Antoni
Chłapowski, Antoni (Anton von Chlapowski), 1901-08 member of the 2nd Chamber of the Prussian Landtag, 1903-07 and 1912-18 member of the Reichstag of the German Empire.*15.1.1855 Ustaszewo, †9.7.1927 Poznań. A medical doctor. After attending the Maria-Magdalena grammar school in Poznan he passed his A-levels in Wongrowitz/Wągrowiec and went on to study medicine in Breslau and Halle. In 1887 he became a Doctor of Medicine in Leipzig. Like his father he was a general practitioner and spa doctor, from 1895 in Poznan, and from 1897 during the bathing season in Bad Landeck/Lądek-Zdrój in Silesia, later in Kolberg and around 1912 in Zoppot. From 1900 onwards he was a municipal councillor in Poznan. In June 1903 he was elected as a member of the Polish parliamentary group in the German Reichstag for the constituency of Wreschen-Pleschen/Września-Pleszew with a majority of 79.7%, in 1912 with a majority of 69.8% for the constituency of Krotoschin/Krotoszyn. Amongst the committees he sat on where those for war regulations, air traffic and the law on horserace betting. From April 1919 he was the deputy Chair of the National Democratic Party in Poznan, and between 1919 and 1922 a Member of the Sejm. picture: 1912.
