Adalbert memorial from 1997 in front of the former Protestant parish and garrison church in Gniezno
The city was part of the German Empire until 1918. In 1945 the building was Catholicised and Polonised, i.e. newly consecrated as the “Church of the Holy Mary, the Queen of Poland”.
